The last night on this trip ended with a great sunset…
What an incredible country and experience we have had here. From the marathon in Reykjavik, to the western most point in Europe. Both desolate landscapes and towns – this place had it all. I couldn’t recommend travelling here more, and as much as the cities were great, there was something magical about being in the complete wilderness, not seeing other cars or people for hours, just the open road and rolling hills around us – complete nature!
We had a great meal in The Settlement Centre, close to where we were staying in Borgarfjodur and an Icelandic beer to celebrate our accomplishments.
The last day was spent swimming in a great outdoor pool, and luckily the sun had come out, which made the water crystal clear blue, an amazing experience when it is freezing outside to swim outside in the warm pool!
