The city of Groningen, in the north of Holland, is a city I know well. I studied here, registered and started my company here and my mother and also some close friends live nearby. They recommended eating at De Herbivoor, the only vegan restaurant in town. There is also a vegan supermarket and a vegan sandwich place, good work, Groningen!

Located in the heart of the city centre, this place has a natural cosy feel with wooden furniture, plants and flower decorations. There is an open kitchen and everything is made to order. The Herbivoor has burgers, pancakes, soups, salads, wraps and deserts, everything looks delicious!

We, my sister, my mother and I, had the Herbivore burger, and a new recipe that did not have a name yet, with sausages. And the pancakes of course, all to share. It was delicious, honest food, that we devoured.

They also had strawberry cheesecake, sugar free! My mother always made this on my birthday, so it felt really special!

Sympathetic, like the staff, that were super friendly, there to help and explain the menu with a real smile. We loved it, thank you Karien & colleagues!
