The earthquake last year took its toll on this cosmopolitan city. There are ‘rebuild’ tours, shops and tram tours solely dedicated to showing people the damage and how they are building it back again, whats coming next – a good way to make a positive from a negative.
Walking around the city, although some parts clearly damaged, and a lot of building work going on, this place still had character. The streets had a lot of style, art and a great vibe – walking through here on a Friday night gave it a buzz. Lots of happy people, gatherings and a city that is clearly not going to fall apart easily.
As it was Friday evening, after a busy week training, it was only fair we blended in with the locals and enjoy a drink at the impressive Old Government Building.
