With a high rating on Happy Cow, this cafe was top of our list. On entry, we could see why straight away. We were warmly greeted by Steve, the founder, who opened the cafe in because of a ‘lifetime ambition of opening a vegan community cafe’.

We welcome all with a passion for home-cooked, gorgeously tasty food. Inspired by recipes we’ve collected from cultures enamoured with flavour and vitality, you’re guaranteed to discover your new favourite dish.

The menu had a fair few options, and all sounded so good, it was hard to choose! We did what we normally do, and swap with each other halfway through! Perfect way to enjoy 2 dishes at once. We enjoyed our lunch in the beautiful courtyard, located next to a church.

Soup and bread to start, this was minestrone – packed full of vegetables and so fresh! The bread was super soft, and the butter as creamy as the real thing!

Pesto salad

Lentil Bolognese

Happy diner!

Whilst there, we noticed a flyer for a gentle yoga session and brunch a few days later. I of course had no hesitation signing up, and was surprised when Michiel, who has been a little put off yoga in recent months, agreed to come along with me!

The yoga session with Mary was great – she was a fantastic teacher, very basic, and exactly what we needed – a stretch, and relaxed session. Michiel loved it, and has even promised to do more – hoorah!

Michiel and I, with our fellow Yogis!

Afterwards, brunch was served…

Huevos Rancheros – Scrambled tofu, home fries, smoky beans, pico de gallo, jalapeño, & a lime wedge.
