Hello Beijing – Hello NUO Hotel! After flying Auckland – Shanghai – Beijing, we were ready for a rest, and this was the perfect place to do just that. From walking in reception, having our bags taken to the room, and super beautiful art and decor everywhere, it was a great first impression.

The rooms were crisp, clean and spacious, huge baths overlooking the city, and beds you could starfish in without being near the sides. Soft pillows, a walk in wardrobe, Nespresso machine and Chinese tea set up, were the finishing touches that completed the rooms into sanctuaries.

We had to check out the fitness facilities – the main reason for booking this hotel, and they did not disappoint. A 25m pool, with the perfect lighting, temperature and environment, and a gym, fitness room and yoga room that was immaculately designed, and exactly what we wanted/needed.

Unfortunately, we got the news that despite that fact we were going to go for the full marathon with Michielโ€™s knee getting better, due to road closures happening in North Korea, the 1/2 marathon was our only option.ย
